We decided to try The Fox Bistro for dinner during a recent stay at another property in Borrego Springs. It was our first time visiting this restaurant and we are glad we decided to dine here. The service, drinks and food were all great. The one thing I will be critical on is the lighting in the rear dining area, it was way too bright and really not conducive to a romantic dinner. Aside from that, the atmosphere was warm and inviting. My wife and I will definitely be back in the future.

I was a little bit miffed that the Hotel website I used to book said about 1400 times that this was the total price the total price the total price the total price and then of course I get there and there’s a resort fee. Then the room that I had was blowing Luke warm air and I asked the girls upfront who are of course used to living on the surface of the sun hot temperatures and they were like oh no your AC works great just said it to 76 and I was like ma’am, that’s the temperature I set my heater to So my room didn’t feel super fresh and cool but thankfully it wasn’t a very hot summer and I’m so head over heels in love with this whole property that I hundred percent will come back again and again anyway I love it and we had an excellent time :-)

Mowgli and I had an amazing stay at the LCDZ resort. All the staff that works here is super cordial, sweet and very professional. Big shout-out to Gerry at the bar, Romy and Martha at the front desk for their hospitality, candor and excellent service. The hotel is a beautiful haven of several buildings, casas, pools and fun areas with plenty to explore by foot and take windy walks with your pet. The grounds are clean, well marked and neatly maintained. I am definitely going back to stay - I love Borrego Springs and the warmth it brings to my soul. There is something mystical, spiritual and grounding in this sacred space, hidden away in the Anza Borrego valley. La Casa del Zorro is a perfect symbolic microcosm of this beautiful valley town.

We stayed at the private casita and loved the three day getaway! The casitas are slightly dated, but the beds were plush and the service was accommodating. The staff brought us anything we needed or forgot. Yoga with Paul was one of the best classes I've had, definitely not to be missed. We also played pickleball during the day and walked over to the star viewing area to catch a few shooting stars at night. The restaurant was good for breakfast but dinner wasn't great. Overall, would be back!

Mostly enjoyed our stay, just not sure we'd come back. The water temp in our room was erratic, from cold to absolutely scalding hot at both the sinks and the shower. The A/C had a difficult time at 68. It just kept running loudly, not cooling. Our room was nice and big with a patio and gated entrance to the pool. The grounds were enjoyable to walk. Breakfast and dinner were excellent.

I had a wonderful weekend stay at The Zorro, Martha and Justina at the front desk was very welcoming and friendly, making check-in, extending our stay, and check-out smooth and stress-free. Gerry , the bartender was very attentive and personable to our needs. The rooms and grounds of the resort were clean, inviting, and beautiful, making our stay very relaxing and comfortable. I will absolutely stay here again, and I highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a cozy getaway, far away from the hustle and bustle of life

My wife and I visited the property for the first time this past week. From the stunning lobby and lounge area, to the beautiful and spacious guest rooms (with a really comfortable bed), to the crystal clean pools, to the Fox Den Bar cocktails and food, this place hit all the right spots. We checked in on a Sunday night and had dinner in the Bistro. The dinner menu was a tad limited, but we visited out of season, so I wasn't surprised at that. The wine list, though? Wow! The food was great and the menu offered a little something for everyone. I even had a glass of Sauternes (iykyk) as a nightcap. The room we stayed in was a garden view room; much larger than your average hotel room and included a nice little patio out back. The patio wass perfect for morning coffee and evening wine and stargazing. The property was QUIET! It's hard to find any properties where there's not road noise, or music from the bar, or kids running amok. There were other people at the property, but I never heard them. The property itself was clean. I didn't find a single piece of errant trash, and all the grounds looked as though they had a crew of landscapers come through hourly to maintain its tidiness. There are 5 pools on the property, though we only used the pool next to the main lobby/restaurant/bar. The pool was crystal clear and there were plenty of seating options all around from lounges to cushioned chairs. We were able to order cocktails and food from the bar to take and enjoy poolside. We ate at the bar a couple times and had their burger, chips & guacamole, and buffalo wings. All of it was dleicious. My wife and I split the burger because it's big enough to do that. I can say, without reservation, it's one of the best burgers I've had. It was cooked to perfection over actual fire (the way God intended) and not on a flat top. And the fries were legit. Cocktails there aren't cheap, but I was never disappointed in the quality/quantity of the pour or the taste of the cocktail. Their liquor selection is good. We availed ourselves of the stargazing theater every night we were there. There's something incredibly relaxing about sitting in the desert and staring up at the night sky and La Casa Del Zorro gets that right. Plenty of chairs in a fenced off area to keep the "light noise" out made for the perfect stargazing experience for us. We checked out yesterday and drove home. Once I got home I realized I'd left my watch (a very, VERY nice watch that holds substantial monetary and sentimental value to me) in my room. I called the front office and, in a panic, asked if they could check our room for it. They called back less than 5 minutes later almost out of breath (I think they actually ran to the room and back) to tell me they had the watch and to ask if I'd like them to ship it to me. With a watch like that, it's not something one puts in the mail, so I told them I'd be driving back out to pick it up. Fortunately, we only live 1.5 hours away. I pulled up, walked in, was greeted by the front desk staff with a huge smile and my watch, and told, "Hope to see you and your lovely wife again soon." When my wife and I booked our trip out here, we were looking for a less expensive alternative to our usual Anniversary trip to our regular place in Palm Springs (rhymes with Schmingleside Inn). My wife is "between jobs" and, well, I'm "frugal." So, she stumbled onto this place. I've got to say, I'm so happy she did. This was our first trip out here, but I can promise it won't be our last.

I love this place, and we will definitely come back! It exceeded my expectations. You have to see it in person, because the photos don't do it justice. It's rustic chic! The rooms are sizable, the solid 1930s construction is still amazing, and the place is well kept. There's a lot of things to do on the property. We had a wonderful meal at the restaurant. All the staff were attentive. And of course you're out in beautiful stargazing country, and there are other things to do in the area. We will come back just to stay at this place!
